St Mary Magdalene Church is on the state grounds and you get a wedding planner to help you plan your perfect day.

When you envisage a marriage in a stately home, you picture Chatsworth House. The beautiful historic house is set within 1,500 acres of parkland and there are many different options for where you wish to get married. Your menu will be prepared by their chefs using the best local produce.

3. Deene Park, Corby
Deene Park sits in the heart of the Northamptonshire countryside. Your wedding will come with a marquee lined and furnished and set in beautiful gardens filled with topiary and roses. 6. Belvoir Castle, Grantham
It’s about time we added a castle to this list! Belvoir Castle is the ancestral home of the Dukes of Rutland and really is a fairytale venue with turrets and towers, suits of armour and plenty of history. There are two stately rooms available for weddings and lakeside marquee options too. You can even have a woodland wedding in a tipi. The best bit – they can fire the Duke’s seven French cannons!

7. Rufford Abbey Country Park, Nottingham
This one really is a hidden gem of a wedding venue. Choose from the Markham Suite or the Talbot Suite and enjoy a wedding day in the 12th century ruins, parkland, woods and formal gardens. They can suit any budget with hot carvery menus through to fine dining. It also comes with a great hospitality team.
