Wedding Inspiration for a Royal and Dramatic Style

I don’t think I’ve ever seen such a beautiful wedding shoot. Dottie Photography teamed up with wedding suppliers across Lincolnshire to provide you with a very regal styled shoot.

In general, styled shoots are pretty. They’re designed to be. Their purpose is as inspiration for brides and to showcase the talents of the suppliers involved. However, styled shoots by Dottie Photography are in a league of their own. Her work is incredible and so is the work of the suppliers used in this beautiful wedding shoot.

Burghley House was used as the venue, and for anyone who hasn’t been there, it’s extremely beautiful. It’s like something out of Hogwarts, and the perfect background to a wedding shoot. It’s also nice just to visit and they host a number of events throughout the year like the Burghley Horse Trials.

The gown you see in the image above is an Ian Stuart gown, and the traditional car is from VP Princess Wedding Cars.

The blush coloured dress and sweetheart neckline along with its ruffled style suits the burgundy and pink tones of the shoot.

Stationery
Instead of 'Paris,' 'New York,' 'Rome' etc, be different and go for wacky table names that look pretty!

All of the stationery in this shoot is also provided by Mandy and Zoe from Dottie Photography. Not only are they incredibly photographers but they provide wedding stationery too, from the business Dottie Creations.

Stationery that should really be on the walls of a gallery.

The stationery used suits the theme perfectly. Honestly, I would frame this stuff if it ever fell on my doorstep! It’s super pretty.

Cherubs/Bridesmaids

The bridesmaids who did a great job of being adorable little cherubs on the shoot wore dresses from Fabulous Tutu Dresses.

The wings – you guessed it – come from Dottie Photography again. Mandy bought the wings from Amazon and embellished them with gold spray, glitter and goose feathers.

You can’t not want to get married here. Burghley House is just amazing and Zoe and Mandy’s photos make the bride and groom look like they’re part of the elaborate paintings behind them. If a styled shoot’s main role was to showcase the talents of wedding suppliers, these pictures do it ten times over.

The flowers and bridesmaid wreaths used on the day were made by local florist Pollen Designs. They really touch on the dark romantic tone of the shoot. The candelabras were provided by Burghley.

All the interior shots of model Georgia King showcase dresses from the Martin Charles Bridal Gallery. The A-Line styles make the bride look as grand as the venue.

Table Decorations

Such a simple idea, but instead of using general table names, or perhaps you’re struggling to pick, go wacky and choose Zebra, Flamingo and Giraffe as table names. You could make each table look different and the stationery, as Zoe from Dottie Creations has proven, can look stunning.

Scrolling down this blog post, it just gets better and better. Just look at the cake. The attention to detail is phenomenal!

Want confetti? Guess who? That’s right; Zoe at Dottie Creations. It’s important for all the small details to relate to one another. If you want to keep the theme, don’t make the mistake of buying something ‘because it looks pretty.’ You have to make sure it suits the general style of the day.

Georgia’s hairstyle for the day was created by Charlotte Wesson and the makeup artist was Liza Smith. Remember, when it comes to hair and makeup, try not to overdo it. It’s your wedding day so you’ll want it to look dramatic and better than usual, but remember it’s not an evening, it’s a whole day.

styled shoot
Another shot of the cake, because you can’t really have enough cake.

So, if you hadn’t already guessed, I LOVE this styled shoot. It’s so beautiful, and although there are a lot of dark winter and autumn colours, you could still go for a similar style in spring or summer. Tweak parts of it to make it a little lighter and brighter perhaps.

A big mention must go to the amazing suppliers of the styled shoot. If you’re getting married in the East Midlands, I thoroughly recommend these. Some may travel further. If you see anything you like, just give them a call and ask!
